What is the meaning of VTO?

VTO, also known as voluntary time off, is time off from work that is taken on a volunteer basis, VTO is a program that allows employees to take paid time off to volunteer for causes they are passionate about.

Employers may offer VTO as an alternative to laying off employees due to business difficulties or excessive employee turnover, VTO benefits provide employees with an opportunity to do work outside the work environment that benefits the community or society but does not necessarily directly give to a company’s bottom line.

Employers may pay employees a set amount or hourly payment to use VTO hours for volunteer activities. Alternatively, employers may let employees use VTO hours in whatever way the employee chooses.

What is the importance of VTO?

VTO is an important benefit for employees because it allows them to take time out of their busy schedules to give back to their community. VTO programs help to build morale and improve employee engagement.
