Area Sales Manager Job Description

A sales manager has one of the most important jobs in the marketing world.

Their main responsibility is to visit clients, prospects, distributors, and suppliers, in order to negotiate deals and contracts, as well as close any sales opportunities that arise.

They do this by setting up appointments and engaging in wide-reaching sales campaigns.

Their salaries also depend on the industry that they are in.

For example, a salesperson with a base salary of $50,000 per year in the pharmaceutical industry would be expected to earn $20,000 to $30,000 more than a salesperson in a retail industry.
