Asphalt Laborer Duties:

  • Maintain asphalt production equipment, including paving machines, hot boxes, and plant equipment
  • Clean and sanitize asphalt production equipment
  • Establish and maintain relationships with asphalt suppliers
  • Maintain records on asphalt equipment and inventories
  • Procure asphalt materials, including aggregates, asphalt emulsion, and asphalt binder
  • Complete all necessary paperwork, including purchase orders, delivery tickets, and use permits
  • Perform inspection and maintenance of asphalt materials

Asphalt Laborer Responsibilities:

  • Perform asphalt millings, prepare surface for paving, and prepare asphalt for hot mix concrete
  • Assist with traffic control during paving operations
  • Use specialized equipment, including augers, milling machines, and asphalt paver machines
  • Perform other construction and site maintenance tasks

Requirements And Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years’ general labor experience in asphalt related field
  • Knowledge of mixing and laying asphalt
  • Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
