We’re looking for an Assistant Coach to work with our team to help develop strategies and game plans. The ideal candidate will have experience playing and coaching at a high level, and be able to think creatively to develop new ways to attack opponents. Assistant Coach Duties:

  • Assist head coach with daily execution of project goals
  • Maintain discipline, focus, and positivity in all team activities
  • Develop and maintain a positive and professional relationship with players, parents, and others involved in the sport
  • Assist in recruiting new talent
  • Assist in developing and executing individual goals for players
  • Instruct players how to perform their assigned roles on the court and off
  • Inform head coach of any serious disciplinary issues or injuries

Assistant Coach Responsibilities:

  • Assist the head coach in coaching the core team during the practice, competition, and tournament season
  • Train and motivate the junior players in coordination with the head coach
  • Maintain and update an on-court training plan for practice, competition, and tournament match play
  • Attend weekly practices, competitions, and tournaments as scheduled
  • Attend tournaments both domestic and international
  • Develop and execute daily and weekly training programs
  • Maintain and update an injury, illness, and illness prevention plan

Requirements And Skills:

  • Proven experience coaching a sports team (grades 4-12 preferred)
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of basketball fundamentals and game strategy
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and school staff
