Banquet captains are waiters and waitresses who serve alcohol at events.

Job Brief:

We're looking for a Banquet Captain to work at our upcoming events. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a similar role, and will be able to take charge of our banquets and ensure that they run smoothly. Banquet Captain Duties:

  • Serve as liaison between the client and catering department
  • Maintains a high level of customer service to all your guests and guest
  • Establishes a mutually beneficial relationship with the clients we serve
  • Plans, schedules, and coordinates all banquet arrangements for special events, banquets, and conferences
  • Creates, updates, and maintains event calendars and schedules
  • Attends client meetings and other organizational functions, representing clients in a professional manner
  • Maintains open communication with staff, vendors, and clients, including the attention to detail necessary to fulfill the clients’ vision
  • Responsible for managing all related banquet functions including set up, event flow, and clean up
  • Maintains accurate records of all banquet functions, including inventory count
  • Maintains the highest level of organization, communication, and proficiency of skills at all times
  • Ability to multi-task in

Banquet Captain Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning, organizing, preparing, and executing all banquet functions (weddings, birthday parties, retirement parties, etc.), including coordinating with clients, vendors, and other banquet function staff
  • Promote excellent guest services by greeting and seating guests, offering beverage service, and answering questions
  • Develop and maintain close working relationships
  • Advise on menu selection and wine selections
  • Open, serve, and clean up after banquet functions
  • Assist in recruiting, training and supervising banquet function staff
  • Perform other duties as assigned
