The barback is an employee who is responsible for stocking the bar.

The barback is in charge of stocking the bar with beer, wine, liquor, mixers, ice, etc.

They are responsible for making sure that drinks are not watered down.

The barback is the first line of defense against drunk customers.

Job Brief:

We’re looking for Barback to help with stocking, prepping, and cleaning. This is a fast-paced position that requires being able to work quickly and efficiently.

Barback Duties:

  • Assist in setting bar and service standards at restaurants, bars, and lounges, adhering to all alcohol service policy
  • Ensure that bar and service area is fully stocked, clean, and visually appealing
  • Serve beverages to customers at tables or bars, handling all barware and utensils
  • Clean and disinfect bar and service area glassware and utensils, including ice machines
  • Stock glassware and utensils with beer, wine, mixed drinks, liquor, and other beverages
  • Use bar scanners for inventory purposes
  • Regularly inspect storage areas for cleanliness and organization
  • Ensure bar equipment and refrigerators are properly stocked with beverages
  • Ensure that all bar equipment, including pitchers, bar blenders, and ice machines, are operational at all times
  • Maintain liquor inventory by auditing all bottles, ordering as needed, and rotating stock

Barback Responsibilities:

  • Perform all other reasonable job duties as assigned

Requirements And Skills:

  • 2+ years experience in barback or similar position
  • Proven experience handling cash, tipping, and bar management
  • Excellent customer service skills with a proven ability to resolve customer issues
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Strong communication skills
