Job Brief:

We’re looking for a Behavioral Specialist to join our team. The Behavioral Specialist will be responsible for providing support to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. The Behavioral Specialist will work closely with the individual and their families to develop and implement behavior support plans. The Behavioral Specialist will also be responsible for conducting training and workshops for families and professionals.

Behavioral Specialist Duties:

  • Design and implement behavioral programs based on client needs and special needs
  • Work with end users to account for their needs and limitations
  • Work with families and agencies to coordinate care
  • Schedule and supervise care
  • Assist in hiring, training, and supervising care staff

Behavioral Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement behavior plans based on individual needs, collaborating with the clinical team, program participants, and their families
  • Meet with participants to assess their needs and complete behavior plan
  • Identify and address challenges with participants, families, and/or support teams
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to address these challenges
  • Collaborate with team members to develop programming for participants and their families
  • Provide ongoing training to other team members
  • Prepare written documentation on participant progress
  • Maintain and update assessment data
  • Serve as primary point of contact on all behavioral concerns

Requirements And Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in counseling or related field
  • 3+ years experience in behavioral health setting
  • Knowledge of the behavioral healthcare environment
  • Knowledge of client assessment and treatment planning
  • Knowledge of counseling and therapy models and techniques
  • Knowledge of developing treatment plans for client populations
