Although bounty hunters charge a large sum of money to the person or people that they are searching for, they usually have to search for the individual for a long time.

According to some sources, it is illegal in several counties to send bounty hunters after someone.

For example, in 1959, bounty hunters were banned from Hawaii.

In 1977, bounty hunters were banned from Florida, and in 1996, bounty hunters were banned from Vermont.
