Bricklayer Duties:

  • Perform bricklaying/bricklaying-related tasks
  • Responsible for all aspects of bricklaying/bricklaying-related projects
  • Provide consultation to management and other architects or engineers
  • Review architectural plans
  • Work under the direction of construction managers, architects, and engineers
  • Apply bricklaying/bricklaying-related techniques and procedures
  • Maintain bricklaying/bricklaying-related tools and equipment
  • Conduct quality control checks on bricklaying/bricklaying-related projects
  • Conduct preliminary surveys as part of project
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Bricklayer Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a high level of safety at all times
  • Build and erect walls, fireplaces, chimneys, arches, and vaults
  • Install ornamental work, tiles, and other masonry items
  • Cut, load, and haul bricks and mortar, including block and pavers
  • Cut and drill brick
  • Mix mortar
  • Measure and lay out brickwork
  • Cover raw brick with mortar
  • Caulk around joints and cut brick
  • Cut brick for building construction
  • Cut brick, tile, and stone for monuments and tombs
  • Paint brickwork
  • Install concrete foundations
  • Install plaster

Requirements And Skills:

  • Valid drivers license for the operation of heavy equipment
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, technical drawings, and technical manuals
  • Proven experience laying brick and masonry
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to follow directions and have attention to detail
