Car Salesman Duties:

  • Provide excellent customer service and satisfy all customer needs
  • Meet company sales goals
  • Develop new leads
  • Understand customer needs and identify ways to meet them
  • Establish strong relationships with current customers
  • Update customer account information
  • Meet sales goals
  • Provide products and services in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Monitor advertising to determine its effectiveness in terms of sales

Car Salesman Responsibilities:

  • Research, select, and price vehicles for sale
  • Work with sales representatives and management to provide customer quotes
  • Attend auto shows and dealership open houses
  • Conduct test drives and sales presentations
  • Maintain records and update market intelligence on new and existing vehicles and accessories
  • Maintain vehicle stock by documenting vehicles sold as used, conducting trade-ins, and coordinating deliveries
  • Perform inventory control by inspecting vehicles for damage, accessories, and parts
  • Follow up on active leads, perform test drives, and work to secure new and repeat business
  • Work with customer on financing, warranties, and insurance
