Cardiologist Duties:

  • Set and monitor department goals

  • Maintain relationships with community physicians including referrals, following up on referrals, and scheduling visits
  • Provide clinical and administrative direction to residents and students
  • Participate in research and/or grant writing

  • Perform echocardiograms, treadmill stress tests, and nuclear stress tests
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as x-rays, MRIs, and CAT scans
  • Perform cardiac and thoracic surgery using minimally invasive techniques
  • Exercise patients before and after procedures
  • Develop and implement treatment plans
  • Communicate treatment recommendations to patients, referring physicians, and insurance companies
  • Perform routine office visits and office procedures
  • Attend and participate in meetings, seminars, and conferences
  • Attend medical conferences
  • Review and approve hospital bills
  • Attend administrative meetings
  • Perform administrative duties such as ordering supplies, preparing reports, and maintaining records
  • Communicate with coworkers and other departments, and answer phones in a professional manner

Requirements And Skills:

  • The candidate must have prior clinical cardiology experience.
  • The candidate must have hospital privileges with knowledge of EMR systems.
  • The candidate must be board certified or eligible in Vascular, Interventional or Cardiovascular Medicine.
  • The candidate must have experience in diagnostic and interventional cardiology
