A catering coordinator is responsible for the coordination, planning, and execution of catering for corporate events.

Catering coordinators often report to catering managers, department heads, or catering directors.

The catering coordinator is responsible for ensuring that safe food is served to attendees of these events.

Job Brief:

We’re looking for a Catering Coordinator to help us plan and execute amazing events! You’ll be responsible for working with our clients to understand their catering needs, then developing a plan to make their event a success. From there, you’ll coordinate with our team of chefs and servers to make sure everything goes off without a hitch. If you’re organized, creative, and love working with people, then this is the job for you!

Catering Coordinator Duties:

  • Provide daily catering service including set up and breakdown, food & beverage preparation, and catering events
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute catering events for conferences, meetings, and events
  • Manage catering inventory, ordering food, and obtaining food vendor’s bids
  • Manage catering staff to ensure catering special events are completed on time and within budget
  • Assist other team members with planning catering events
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute catering events for conferences, meetings, and events
  • Ensure catering events run as planned and employees, clients, and attendees are taken care of

Catering Coordinator Responsibilities:

  • Help effectively manage catering budgets, including analyzing sales trends, ordering inventory, tracking expenses, and determining appropriate pricing
  • Work closely with the chef and catering manager to coordinate all catering orders, including menu development, ordering, and billing
  • Provide clear communication to event coordinators, caterers, and clients regarding production status, menu changes, and special requests
  • Order office supplies, maintain inventory, and clean the office
  • Work with vendors and suppliers to source products, negotiate pricing, and monitor deliveries
  • Schedule pickups for deliveries of catering products
  • Keep the catering manager and chef informed of any logistical issues, such as transportation, deliveries, or staff
  • Assist the catering manager in maintaining menus, tracking budgets, purchasing supplies, and ordering food

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; 3+ years’ relevant experience in a catering or hospitality setting
