As the head of your organization’s center, the Center Director manages day-to-day program operations, including regulatory compliance, financial management, human resources, and recruitment.

The Center Director coordinates and supervises all centers and programs.

The Center Director is the final authority on the Center’s management team.

Job Brief:

Center Director Duties:

  • Manage and oversee all centers and centers of excellence
  • Promote a culture of education and continuous quality improvement and improvement of systems
  • Achieve and maintain compliance with all licensing, accreditation, and regulatory requirements
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with owners, tenants, and vendors
  • Establish effective communications with all center staff, center board of directors, and parent organization
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Operating Officer

Center Director Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations, assigning weekly performance goals and assuring their completion, while accomplishing your own goals
  • Recruit, onboard, and train high-performing employees to achieve sales, profitability, market share, and business plan objectives
  • Maintain project timelines to ensure tasks are accomplished on time
  • Develop, implement, and maintain budgetary and resource allocation plans
  • Delegate responsibilities to the best employees to perform them while enforcing all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, training programs, and cultural values
  • Resolve internal staff conflicts efficiently and to the mutual benefit of those involved
  • Meet with prospective customers and clients, and provide accurate quotes
  • Maintain a favorable image in the community
  • Manage the scheduling of project teams

Requirements And Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • 3+ years’ work experience in youth development, education, and/or community service
  • Ability to teach group classes and supervise volunteers
  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate the daily activities of a center environment
  • Knowledge of group dynamics
