Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Duties:

  • Oversee and direct accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and taxes
  • Develop and maintain accounting and reporting systems
  • Formulate, review, and communicate accounting policies and procedures
  • Promote compliance with internal and external accounting regulations
  • Manage and oversee general ledger activities
  • Determine the direction, strategy and objectives for accounting
  • Create and maintain records of accounts, transactions, assets and liabilities
  • Manage and oversee the financial reporting process
  • Provide staff with direction, training, and support

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with upper management to develop and administer financial policies and procedures, and monitor financial performance of the company
  • Prepare financial reports and statements, including quarterly and annual reviews, and handle ad hoc requests
  • Oversee the preparation of financial data, including cash flow projections, annual budgets, and short- and long-term investment plans
  • Maintain complete and accurate financial records, including inventory, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and the investment portfolio
  • Assist with the preparation of tax returns for federal and state agencies
  • Assist with budget development and monitoring
  • Assist with tax research
  • Perform accounting and other financial duties in absence of Controller
  • Oversee payroll activities, including managing payroll transactions, calculating and issuing paychecks, and assisting management with tax and benefit issues
  • Assist with ensuring regulatory compliance with federal agencies, such as OSHA and EPA
  • Assist with quarterly and annual audits, and assist with identifying and resolving
