Chiropractic Assistant Job Description

A chiropractic assistant is a person who is committed to assisting a chiropractor in their daily work.

A chiropractic assistant is often referred to as an aide, receptionist, or secretary.

Chiropractic assistants often perform clerical duties such as scheduling appointments, having patients sign consents and release forms, and answering telephone calls.

Chiropractic assistants can also assist chiropractors by placing needles into patients’ hands.

Chiropractic assistants may also answer the phone when a patient calls to schedule an appointment, take calls from patients who need assistance, and determine if a patient should be scheduled for a same-day appointment.

Chiropractic Assistant Duties:

  • Assist chiropractors in examinations, treatments, and adjustments

Chiropractic Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Assist chiropractors with patients during routine exams, adjustment, and massage services
  • Prepare patients for chiropractic treatments and exam rooms
  • Explain chiropractic procedures to patients, listen to their complaints, and record their symptoms
  • Prepare patients for treatments
  • Keep patient records up to date
  • Clean exam rooms, sterilize patient instruments, and sterilize treatment tables
  • Schedule appointments and process patient payments
  • Assist in answering phones, filing, and other office duties
  • Assist in cleaning and stocking exam rooms, waiting rooms, and treatment rooms
  • Perform other tasks as needed

Requirements And Skills:

  • Valid Licensure as an Chiropractic Assistant
  • Two to three years’ previous chiropractic experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills to relay pertinent information to patients and doctors
