Compliance Auditor Job Description

A compliance auditor is a person who inspects an organization’s policies and systems to ensure that it meets applicable laws and regulations.

Organizations often hire compliance auditors to ensure that their policies and employees are following such laws and regulations as the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, and the Fair Labor Standards Act.

A compliance auditor may find that an organization is not complying with these laws due to misunderstandings of the laws, which can result from poor communication between management and staff.

The organization may hire a compliance auditor to implement the necessary changes in its policies and management.
