Job Brief:

We’re looking for a Construction Estimator to join our team and help us take on new and exciting projects. As a Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for providing accurate estimates for construction projects. Construction Estimator Duties:

  • Analyze construction cost factors and considerations
  • Develop detailed cost projections for construction projects
  • Plan and manage budgets and cost controls for construction jobs
  • Establish cost expectations for projects
  • Develop bid packages and items for estimates
  • Develop schedules for projects
  • Review bids and specifications
  • Assist management with project planning
  • Develop reports and make recommendations to management
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Construction Estimator Responsibilities:

  • Develop accurate cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracting, based on an understanding of scope, specifications, and work flow, while managing schedules, budgets, time constraints, and risk
  • Develop and maintain expert knowledge in structural and civil engineering, architectural, and construction practices
  • Create and maintain project schedules using professional software
  • Maintain a working knowledge of building codes and standards and design practices and procedures
  • Prepare and deliver proposals and quotations to potential project owners
  • Perform feasibility studies, such as cost estimating and bid analysis
  • Ensure the successful completion of projects by tracking costs, monitoring deadlines, and managing available resources
  • Get to know contractors, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Maintain a working knowledge of local, state, and federal requirements

Requirements And Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, business administration, or other related field
  • 2+ years’ proven experience estimating construction costs
  • Knowledge of building materials, quantities, and labor required for a wide variety of construction types
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Highly skilled in reading blueprints
