Construction Inspector Job Description

A construction inspector is a specialist who oversees all construction work.

Construction inspectors generally have more formal education than a normal contractor or construction manager.

Their duties may include making sure the work is done according to building codes, and that employees are following the proper safety procedures.

Some construction inspectors have engineering degrees or some type of construction-related degree.

Others, however, may have only completed vocational school programs or received on-the-job training.

Construction inspectors may also be called building inspectors, construction supervisors, quality assurance inspectors, or building erectors.
