Job Brief:

We’re looking for a Contract Specialist to support our organization’s contracting needs. The Contract Specialist will be responsible for negotiating and drafting contracts, as well as providing guidance and support on contract-related matters.

Contract Specialist Duties:

  • Create, manage, and oversee all contractual agreements and documents between subcontractors and owners
  • Conduct initial meetings with prospective subcontractors, communicates their qualifications, and negotiates the best possible agreement
  • Manage all change orders
  • Follow up with contractors to ensure work is progressing as scheduled, and to resolve any disputes
  • Approve all invoices and bills for services rendered
  • Foster effective communication between contractors and owners to ensure the most positive working relationship possible

Contract Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Manage subcontracts, purchase orders, and schedules
  • Create and update DDS, RFQ, and RFP documents
  • Capture and approve project changes
  • Negotiate contract terms
  • Enforce subcontract requirements
  • Develop and manage forecasts, budget, and change orders
  • Oversee claims, dispute resolution, and insurance

Requirements And Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 3+ years of sales experience including familiarity with residential design and sales
  • Ability to maintain sales records
  • Knowledge of construction methods and technologies, and ability to interpret technical drawings and contracts
