A crew member is an individual employed as an operator of a ship or an aircraft.

A crew member has two main responsibilities:

 * Execute all assigned duties  * Render assistance to the vessel’s captain

A crew member, also referred to as a ship’s officer, is specially trained to perform certain tasks.

For example, a helmsman is responsible for steering the ship, while an engineer is in charge of repairing and maintaining the ship.

Other crew members include pilots, cooks, stewards, and stewards’ helpers.

 

A crew member’s qualifications vary by position.

Job Brief

We’re looking for a Crew Member to join our team and help us with our upcoming projects.

Crew Member Duties

  • Act as a liaison between clients and the construction team
  • Perform tasks as assigned by Project Manager
  • Assist in preparing cost estimates for projects
  • Maintain quality standards for client
  • Oversee, develop, and implement organizational policies and procedures
  • Assist in the execution of company’s strategic plans

Crew Member Responsibilities

  • Clean, maintain, and service mechanical and electrical systems, and spot repair broken equipment
  • Identify and address safety hazards
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment, facilities, and assigned area, and report damage or safety hazards
  • Maintain equipment and tools, and complete all repairs

Requirements and Skills

  • Previous employment in the construction industry
  • Knowledge of safety practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of general office equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Personal cleanliness
