Crime Scene Investigator Duties:
- Perform all duties of a crime scene investigator, including preservation, collection, and analysis of physical evidence
- Proactively assess risk, investigate, and document crime scenes
- Report any discoveries to law enforcement officers
- Collect and preserve physical evidence
- Gather, organize, and compile information
- Research and interview witnesses
- Train other investigators
- Perform other duties as assigned
Crime Scene Investigator Responsibilities:
- Interview victims, witnesses, and suspects, and other relevant parties to gather evidence, assist law enforcement, and uphold the integrity of investigations
- Assist in the processing of evidence, and perform chemical, trace, and gunshot residue testing
- Assist in preparing reports and affidavits for court
- Assist in communication with victims and witnesses during the investigation process
- Perform other duties as required by law enforcement
