Job Brief

We're looking for a Criminologist who can help us out with this case.

Criminologist Duties

  • -Evaluate information to determine its reliability, validity, and importance and to identify and resolve problems or discrepancies
  • -Provide expert insights and analysis of complex criminal justice issues
  • -Deliver comprehensive reports and presentations on findings
  • -Develop and oversee the implementation of policies and procedures that improve operational efficiencies
  • -Degree in a related field is preferred
  • -Minimum of 5 years experience
  • -Scope of operations: Central Office
  • -Experience with public agencies is preferred

Criminologist Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee day-to-day operations of the department, including hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising employees
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures that drive crime reduction, detection and deterrence
  • Train employees to identify, evaluate, report, and document crimes
  • Coordinate and attend training and conferences to stay up to date on all laws and policies
  • Communicate with subordinates and superiors regarding daily and weekly crime trends
  • Organize, maintain, and store all records related to operations and investigations, including personnel files
  • Document all crimes, including how the crime was committed, what the victim suffered, and who committed it
  • Improve overall departmental operations
  • Identify, investigate, and follow-up on potential fraud activities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with court personnel and law enforcement officials
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of job-related policies

Requirements and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, criminology, sociology, psychology, or related field
  • 2+ years proven experience in crime analysis and research
