Cyber Security Analyst Job Description

Computer security analysts (also known as information security analysts) are people who are responsible for protecting an organization’s computers and networks from threats, viruses, and other security problems.

Cyber Security Analyst Duties:

• Provide comprehensive security reviews of business systems and network infrastructure
• Analyze existing security controls, and recommend and implement additional security controls where necessary
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to protect client data
• Develop and implement security incident response plans
• Perform penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and other technical security functions
• Provide consultation on the development and implementation of security controls
• Provide regular security awareness and training

Cyber Security Analyst Responsibilities:

• 2+ years of experience with penetration testing and vulnerability assessment
• Experience with penetration testing of business applications, operating systems, and network security
• Experience in performance analysis and recommendations
• Proven experience managing enterprise systems or security projects
• Working knowledge of information security management regulations
• Knowledge

Requirements And Skills:

• Research and detect security vulnerabilities, resolve issues, and upgrade systems
• Perform support functions and communicate issues to appropriate team members
• Assist in development of new tools and techniques for vulnerability detection
• Participate as a business consultant, helping to develop proposals, strategies, and implementation methodologies
• Develop and implement security policies, best practices, and procedures
