A database engineer is an engineer who designs, develops, and maintains databases.

We’re looking for a skilled Database Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for developing and managing our databases, as well as ensuring their performance and security. If you have a passion for data and a desire to work with a growing company, we want to hear from you!

Database Engineer Duties:

  • -Maintain existing and develop new database systems
  • -Implement and maintain data tracking and report programs
  • -Create new database objects and programs, and issue recommendations to users
  • -Manage and oversee changes to information systems
  • -Maintain user access permissions and requirements
  • Preparation of training materials for new users
  • Proactively investigate and resolve system issues
  • Maintain and oversee installation, monitoring, and configuration of network equipment, firewalls, and related software
  • Research, integrate, and test new applications/solutions as requested by management
  • Experience with database/database-related programming languages such as:
  • SQL
  • MaxDB
  • Oracle
  • Access

  • Microsoft Access

Database Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain database and SQL servers, administer database applications and access, and work with database administrators to design and administer data warehousing systems
  • Design and implement database architectures for mission-critical applications
  • Design and implement database testing procedures, including performance tuning, security and backup
  • Maintain database software, update systems, and improve database performance
  • Develop and enhance database query engine and data modeling tools
  • Develop database integration strategies and solutions
  • Identify upgrades, enhancements, and new technologies to databases
  • Develop, review, and update data dictionary, data models, and data flows
  • Monitor and maintain data security and integrity
  • Review and test code for database interfaces, data flow, and data modeling
  • Develop enhancement plans and proposals for database related projects
  • Troubleshoot database performance issues and document performance parameters
  • Create data conversion specifications

Requirements And Skills:

  • Proven experience in a development role
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL
  • Knowledge of database design, data modeling, normalization, and ETL (extract, transform, load)
  • Knowledge of relational database tools
