Job Brief:

We’re looking for a Design Drafter to join our team. As a Design Drafter, you will be responsible for creating drawings and specifications for our products. If you have experience in product design or drafting, we want you!

Design Drafter Duties:

  • Operate a variety of drafting equipment to create and update construction drawings, technical designs, and sketches
  • Participate in planning/design meetings
  • Propose new design concepts
  • Design diagrams, schematics, or plans
  • Conduct on-site inspections to verify plans and specifications are met
  • Assist other design staff as needed

Design Drafter Responsibilities:

  • Develop drawings according to engineering specifications and instructions using CAD software
  • Prepare preliminary shop drawings for fabrication using CAD software
  • Prepare shop drawings for fabrication using CAD software
  • Design, modify, and revise drawings as required
  • Assist in the selection of engineering materials and equipment
  • Attend project meetings and review products, projects, and drawings as needed
  • Track and evaluate performance

Requirements And Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering, or related field
  • 2+ years of drafting and design experience with residential, commercial, and municipal projects
  • Knowledge of building codes, materials, and techniques
  • Excellent communication skills required
