Development Assistant Duties:

  • Assist the Development Department in completing tasks related to the development and fulfillment of fundraising initiatives
  • Coordinate events by scheduling speakers, securing venues, procuring equipment, organizing logistics, and liaising with participants
  • Assist in the execution of major donor solicitations
  • Assist in the planning and execution of fundraising events
  • Answer questions about the organization’s programs, services, and mission
  • Assist with donor relations and donor management
  • Assist with the production of reports, data, and statistics
  • Maintain calendars for senior management

Development Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Assist Development Director in developing and executing fundraising activities, including identifying opportunities, research, writing proposals, and presentations for prospects
  • Assist Development Director in raising capital, building out the budget, and tracking funder communications
  • Develop and compose correspondence, reports, proposals, and other documents
  • Maintain development database, including contact information, funding sources, and correspondence with prospects
  • Manage a network of over 100 trusted volunteers
  • Attend fundraising and community events to raise money, increase awareness, and create goodwill
  • Prepare and distribute development materials
  • Support development and communications staff
