Job Brief:

We’re looking for a Dialysis Nurse to provide care and support to patients with kidney failure. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the disease process and be able to work with patients to manage their symptoms.

Dialysis Nurse Duties:

  • Provide on-site nursing care for patients undergoing dialysis treatment in home, dialysis center, or hospital
  • Performs duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse or a licensed physician
  • Maintain accurate records
  • Monitor patient vital signs, make assessments, and complete any necessary procedures
  • Monitor patients’ fluid intake and output
  • Evaluate reactions to medications and treatments
  • Liaise with physicians, patients, families, and dialysis unit staff
  • Manage stress level in stressful or emergency situations
  • Proactively seek continuing education opportunities

Dialysis Nurse Responsibilities:

  • Check on patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment
  • Schedule patients for treatment
  • Prepare treatment areas
  • Monitor patient vital signs
  • Perform initial patient assessment
  • Provide patients with care
  • Understand proper technique
  • Assist patients in completing treatment

Requirements And Skills:

  • Registered nurse with current RN license
  • 3+ years experience in hemodialysis
  • Preferably with 3+ years prior management experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients & their families
  • Advanced knowledge of the dialysis process
  • Ability to manage staff
  • Excellent time management
