Job Brief

We’re looking for an Editorial Assistant to work with our team of editors and writers. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing and editing skills, and be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Editorial Assistant Duties

-Assist with the management, planning, and implementation of the company’s editorial calendar and strategy, and editorial operations, including internal communications, workflow, and editorial calendar
-Ensure that company communications are on brand and on-strategy, and help set and oversee company editorial strategy
-Assist with the creation of social media content (such as Facebook, Twitter, and blog posts), including research, editing, and publishing
-Provide administrative assistance to the Editors, including organization of materials, scheduling meetings with editors, creating and distributing materials, and scheduling appointments
-Create content in Excel or Google Sheets and communicate changes to editors
-Do research, draft, and edit copy for email marketing campaigns
-Write, proofread, fact check, and edit copy for company websites, including blog posts and other articles
-Educate, train, and supervise less experienced

Editorial Assistant Responsibilities

-Read and respond to author queries
-Discuss project specifics with project manager, project manager of editors, and project manager
-Assist with editing process; read and mark up author’s document
-Assist with proofreading and copy editing
-Work with project manager to coordinate onsite visits
-Assist project manager with organizing matters, like scheduling and invoicing
-Assist in compiling and distributing the annual report
-Assist with other tasks as needed

Requirment And Skills

-Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, or a related field
2+ years’ editorial experience and at least 1-year experience in publishing
-Knowledge of basic design, layout, and typography
-Knowledge of Associated Press style
-Strong analytical skills and the ability to multi-task
