An education director is a director in charge of academic affairs at a college or university.

They are heavily involved in the planning, directing, and funding of programs or projects related to their department.

Education directors act on a president's behalf, communicating and administering the CEO's policies.

They are also responsible for teaching professors in their department and guiding curriculum development.

Education directors report directly to their school's vice president for academic affairs.

An education director may also hold the title of vice president of academic affairs, provost, or chief academic officer.

Job Brief:

We're looking for an Education Director who can help us shape the future of our educational programs. The Education Director will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of our educational programs, as well as working with our team of educators to ensure that our programs are of the highest quality. If you are a passionate educator with a vision for how education can be used to empower individuals and communities, we want to hear from you!

Education Director Duties:

  • Foster and oversee educational goals and objectives for secondary school students
  • Collect and analyze data to track student achievement level
  • Lead classroom instruction
  • Promote growth among students by promoting best practices in education
  • Oversee the hiring and training of additional teachers
  • Oversee other education roles as needed
  • Coordinate scheduling of classes and meetings
  • Provide support for additional education activities within the school

Education Director Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with schools to create a student-centered program that caters to their needs
  • Maintain relationships with instructors, administration, and other support personnel, recommending educational trends, policy changes, and improvements
  • Work with the school’s curriculum director to identify course curriculum and oversee its delivery
  • Research best practices, and apply them effectively to program design
  • Work with school and other support personnel to identify student needs and tailor content
  • Create and present professional development programs to instructors, staff, and students
  • Research and compile information on relevant educational trends, technologies, standards, and regulations
  • Track student progress, identify gaps in instruction, and report achievements to senior management
  • Bachelor’s degree required, with 5-7 years of experience in educational technology
