Job Brief:

We’re looking for Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) to help us provide medical assistance to people who are injured or sick. EMTs are an important part of our team and we need your help!

Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) Duties:

  • Assist in transport of injured or ill patients by ambulance to designated medical facilities
  • Arrange for the transport of patients in an alternate manner, such as the use of wheel chair or other specialized equipment
  • Provide pre-hospital medical care to patients, performing a variety of tasks including taking vital signs, performing CPR, and assisting with wound care
  • Treat patients with spinal immobilization devices, applying splints, and treating fractures
  • Perform physical assessment and consultation with patients and their family
  • Support emergency operations by performing administrative tasks, such as making phone calls and working with computers
  • Perform occupational health and safety inspections
  • Perform other tasks as needed

Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) Responsibilities:

  • Take patient histories, conduct physical exams, and diagnose illnesses or injuries, providing first aid and emergency care
  • Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), administer oxygen, and manage hemorrhage
  • Recognize and respond to medical complications and emergencies
  • Remain current on continuing education credits
  • Maintain records, including medical history and test results
  • Assist physicians and surgeons during surgeries
  • Assist in transporting patients
  • Provide education on health and illness prevention
  • Provide education to patients and their families
  • Assist in preparation and administration of medications
  • Performs other job duties as required

Requirements And Skills:

  • Current NEMT (National Registry of EMT) certification
  • Current CPR and AED certifications
  • 4 years’ EMT experience
  • Experience in trauma care
  • Knowledge of BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP
