Job Brief:

We’re looking for an Escrow Assistant to join our team. The Escrow Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the Escrow department. This person must be detail oriented, organized, and have excellent communication skills.

Escrow Assistant Duties:

  • Assist escrow officers with all aspects of escrow activities by providing customer service support
  • Assist with escrow and closing documents
  • Establish and maintain relationships with borrowers, sellers, and many others involved in the transaction
  • Provide assistance with market analysis and home valuation
  • Conduct preliminary title research to identify any current proceedings and liens
  • Complete loan origination and documents, prepare closing statements, and reconcile accounting
  • Prepare and distribute other documents as required

Escrow Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with outside escrow agents to ensure timely transfer of funds
  • Verify owner’s and contractor’s funds are deposited correctly into the project account
  • Attend closings to provide notary services
  • Assist in final project closeout, including preparation of final occupancy certificates and release of lien waivers
  • Compile payment vouchers for customer service
  • Repay loan funds, draw checks, reconcile bank statements, and make deposits
  • Monitor project accounts with cash flow projections

Requirements And Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an escrow assistant, with 3+ years of previous real estate experience preferred
  • Knowledge of escrow procedures, legal documents, and conditions
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven ability to organize and prioritize
