Executive Pastor Job Description

An executive pastor is a pastor who is paid a salary by the administrative/institutional leadership of a church.

While some denominations allow paid pastoral positions, others do not.

Executive pastors are often paid on a part-time basis, so they usually serve alongside a salaried lead pastor, but typically have a higher profile than many of the elders/deacons/lay leaders.
