Job Brief:

We’re looking for a Family Nurse Practitioner to provide high-quality primary healthcare services to our patients. You will be responsible for diagnosing and treating acute and chronic illnesses, as well as providing preventative care and health education to patients and their families. Family Nurse Practitioner Duties:

• Provide primary care services to patients of all ages
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients using diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
• Consult with, advise, and assist patients to identify and address personal, emotional, social, and vocational problems
• Provide recommendations for preventive health care
• Anticipate, recognize, and respond quickly to developing situations
• Manage health problems as they arise
• Maintain accurate medical records and other patient records
• Prepare patients for tests and follow-up evaluations
• Advise patients of recommended treatments
• Monitor patients’ responses to treatment
• Interpret test results
• Communicate with patients’ families and other health care providers
• Assign patient responsibilities
• Assemble and maintain supplies
• Monitor calendars and schedules
• Carry out other duties as assigned

Family Nurse Practitioner Responsibilities:

• Provide primary care to groups of patients, covering histories and physical exams, diagnosing and treating illnesses and injuries, and overseeing minor procedures
• Perform specialist functions, such as performing minor surgeries and administering medication
• Dispense prescription drugs and plan treatment regimens
• Document and report progress of patient conditions to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
• Attend health team meetings and community education sessions
• Liaise with referring physicians to obtain referrals
• Review patient records and test results, and consult with other healthcare professionals
• Provide post-procedure and follow-up care
• Manage patient records and resource inventory
• Maintain professional competence by attending educational workshops, meetings, and conventions, and reviewing professional publications to stay current on advances in diagnostic and treatment methods
• Maintain office environment and equipment and supplies
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements And Skills:

• RN with current certification
• Familiar with primary care, acute, and preventative medicine
• Familiar with health insurance regulations
• Expert in treatment of acute and chronic illnesses
• Self-reliant, able to work independently with minimal oversight
• Experience in emergency department, urgent care
