A field representative is the role for sales representatives that are often assigned in a geographic area.

Field representatives typically work in the field, and are most like salespeople.

They are typically responsible for business development and are responsible for having meetings with potential customers.

Field representatives also may visit companies, make cold calls, and visit prospective customers.

In addition to sales, field representatives may also be responsible for administrative tasks, such as preparing presentations, organizing marketing materials, and generating reports.

Although field representatives typically have good communication skills, sales experience, and exposure to a range of products/services, they are often very territorial

Job Brief:

We're looking for a Field Representative who is passionate about environmental causes and wants to help make a difference. The Field Representative will be responsible for outreach and education to the public about the importance of environmental conservation.

Field Representative Duties:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans
  • Earn and maintain clients’ trust through transparency, open communication, and mutual understanding
  • Develop and maintain a strong network of contractors, vendors, and other relevant contacts
  • Resolve client issues by maintaining frequent communication and averting any conflicts
  • Work closely with clients, contractors, and project management
  • Proactively manage projects to ensure successful completion
  • Represent the organization in a professional manner, utilizing strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Work with team members to achieve the organization’s mission
  • Protect the company’s reputation
  • Seek out opportunities to expand the company
  • Maintain positive public relations

Field Representative Responsibilities:

  • Assist project managers, field superintendents and in-the-field managers with daily duties including sales and marketing, customer relations, field work, and report preparation
  • Manage the schedule and route of subcontractors and laborers, including pre-bid and pre-construction meetings, site visits, and job-site coordination
  • Maintain and update project documents and documents including SOWs and daily reports
  • Act as on-site safety representative during project installations, and assure safe handling and disposal of materials
  • Distribute project materials
  • Assess job performance and recommend corrective actions
  • Complete required documentation for project certification
  • Follow company safety and quality standards
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients
  • Make sales presentations
  • Conduct sales follow-up calls
  • Develop and maintain positive customer relationships
  • Other duties as assigned
