A field service representative (FSR) is a person who visits customers in the field, usually to perform repair or maintenance activities.

Field Service Representative Duties:

• Maintain positive relationships with customers by being responsive, timely, and communicative
• Exceed customer expectations by remaining focused on service when booking appointments, attending appointments, and closing service requests
• Assist customers by reviewing equipment, determining work needed, and issuing invoices
• Identify and resolve service issues
• Develop and maintain necessary documentation
• Stay informed about new products and offerings
• Stay aware of customer needs, expectations, and industry trends
• Promote company products and services at every opportunity
• Perform routine maintenance on company products
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Field Service Representative Responsibilities:

• Plan service route schedules with goal of minimizing travel costs, using geographic information system tools
• Identify service opportunities within assigned territory and schedule customer visits
• Provide technical support, installation, and repair of equipment and systems
• Seek out new sales opportunities

Requirements And Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
• 3+ years’ field service experience in a technical sales environment
• Knowledge of construction methods and technologies, and ability to interpret technical drawings and contracts
• Knowledge of building code requirements and scheduling methods
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with
