A finance business partner (FBP) is a person who serves a dual role as a financial authority and business partner with the business.

The finance business partner provides CFO-level expertise while also acting as a strategic business partner who looks to make operational improvements.

Similar to the systems integrator (SI) role, finance business partners help customers establish and maintain a financially healthy business through operational excellence, strategic alignment, technology implementation, business process optimization, cash flow management, and process improvement.

We’re looking for a Finance Business Partner to join our team. You will be responsible for providing financial analysis and support to our business units. In this role, you will partner with business leaders to help them make informed decisions about their business activities. You will also be responsible for developing financial models and forecasting tools to support our business units. Finance Business Partner Duties:

  • Provide input and convey information to senior management regarding financial statements, audit, tax returns, and accounting information
  • Conduct financial research, review financial statements, and provide information for review and analysis to management
  • Maintain financial books of record and prepare financial documents, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Promote financial awareness throughout the organization, including accounting, budgeting, and reporting
  • Attend to billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cost accounting
  • Prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and prepare financial statements

Finance Business Partner Responsibilities:

  • Maintain effective relationships with internal customers, including business managers, project managers, direct reports, and vendors, as well as external customers, including owners, managers, colleagues, and vendors
  • Provide accurate and timely support across all functions to support business goals
  • Perform business analysis to assist management in strategic decisions; provide appropriate analyses and recommendations to employees for management review
  • Create and maintain accurate records and reports, and ensure all activities are in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Promote cost management initiatives and efficiencies, including but not limited to implementing and maintaining budgets, analyzing cost drivers, and identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiencies
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors
  • Perform other duties as assigned
