Financial Specialist Duties

-Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of effective financial policies and procedures
-Oversee financial activities, including budgeting, cash management, accounting, and loan servicing
-Maintain a working knowledge of federal, state, and local laws related to financial management
-Develop forecasting models and financial projections as requested to support business plans
-Prepare and review monthly financial statements
-Assist in the preparation and monitoring of financial plans, budgets, and reports
-Perform administrative tasks, including maintenance of financial records, purchase requisitions, and record keeping
-Perform other duties as assigned

Financial Specialist Responsibilities

-Oversee and coordinate financial operations of all departments
-Develop budget projections and forecasts to top management
-Research and investigate claims, disputes, and litigation, and prepare reports for senior management
-Coordinate and manage accounts payable
-Manage accounts receivable
-Manage payroll
-Research, prepare, and submit reports using accounting and financial software
-Review and analyze payroll data, including the calculation of taxes, and internal controls
-Research and compile reports on various financial trends
-Research and negotiate cost containment measures
-Research and compile financial information for presentation to senior management
-Research and compile financial reports and statements
-Research markets, analyze, and report on economic trends, markets and competitors
-Research and compile reports on the financial performance of companies
-Review financial statements and prepare reports for senior management
-Conduct financial analysis and recommend improvements

Requirements and Skills

-Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other finance-related field
-Strong analytical skills and knowledge of the principles of accounting
-Strong mathematical and computer skills, including comprehensive understanding of standard financial accounting principles
-Experience in analyzing financial data and giving financial recommendations
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
