Food Handler Job Description

Generally, a food handler is someone who handles food.

That can include a person in a restaurant kitchen, a grocery store, or somebody who makes their own food at home.

Food handlers are responsible for following food preparation and safety measures.

Keeping food safe begins in the kitchen and ends at the customer’s plate.

Food handlers who prepare food for someone else are doing so in someone else’s home, so it’s important to remember that you are responsible for your own food.
