Job Brief:

We're looking for a Food Service Manager to lead our team of food service professionals. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food service operations and ensure that our customers are satisfied with our food and service. You will also be responsible for hiring, training, and supervising our food service staff. If you have a passion for food and customer service, then we want you to join our team!

Food Service Manager Duties:

  • Oversee all kitchen activities of a specific restaurant, including food preparation and service
  • Estimate the number of total meals needed per day, and calculate the amount of food needed to be prepared
  • Direct the distribution of food to the proper areas to ensure it is prepared and served to guests accurately
  • Ensure all meals are prepared according to recipes, using good quality ingredients and in a timely manner
  • Develop and implement a safe, sanitary, and efficient food service operation
  • Seek out new food trends and techniques, and incorporate them into menus
  • Train staff in proper safety measures, food preparation, and service methods
  • Conduct assessments and inspections during every shift to ensure the facility is in compliance with all applicable health regulations
  • Monitor and oversee inventory levels and daily requisitions
  • Keep track of restaurant expenses
  • Have a thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local health laws and regulations

Food Service Manager Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the daily operations of a full-service restaurant operation, including staffing, inventory, and purchasing
  • Develop and implement a food service plan that meets both company and customer goals
  • Maintain effective safety practices for staff, customers, and visitors
  • Recommend menu changes, menu pricing, and restaurant design changes
  • Maintain proper cash, inventory, credit card, and payroll records
  • Execute marketing strategies to increase clientele and revenues
  • Manage restaurant schedule and labor budgets
  • Acquire and store supplies, equipment, and supplies
  • Train new employees and oversee orientation process
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
