Job Brief:

We’re looking for a Health Informatics Specialist who can help us to improve our patient care and health outcomes. You will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing health information systems that support clinical decision making, patient care and public health. You will also be required to evaluate the impact of these systems on patient care, health outcomes and cost-effectiveness.

Health Informatics Specialist Duties:

  • Design and develop custom applications to efficiently manage clinical data
  • Create, implement, and maintain standards for the management, storage, and transmission of health information
  • Maintain electronic and paper records, information, and data
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to meet administrative and clinical requirements
  • Develop and implement data, reports, data warehouses, and data mining activities
  • Provide expert technical assistance to staff, patients, and physicians
  • Oversee and perform database maintenance, update, and system implementation work

Health Informatics Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain departmental and hospital enterprise data warehouses, using SQL queries to extract and manipulate data as needed, using SQL Server
