A helicopter mechanic is a person who performs mechanical work on helicopters.

The mechanic may be employed by a repair agency or the helicopter owner himself.

Job Brief:

We’re looking for a Helicopter Mechanic to work on a variety of helicopters, perform routine maintenance and repairs, and conduct thorough inspections. The ideal candidate will have experience working on helicopters, be able to troubleshoot and repair complex issues, and be detail-oriented.

Helicopter Mechanic Duties:

  • Maintain and repair helicopters including structural, mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems
  • Inspect, test, diagnose, and repair all mechanical, electrical, and electronic components
  • Provide technical guidance to technicians
  • Perform all job duties in a safe manner, following all standard operating procedures
  • Maintain proper confidentiality and security of information

Helicopter Mechanic Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, test, repair, and troubleshoot rotary-wing aircraft and components
  • Inspect aircraft and components before, during, and after use
  • Perform routine inspections and inspections of aircraft and components to ensure functionality and safety
  • Perform maintenance and repair on engines, airframe, flight controls, hydraulic, electrical, avionics, and navigation systems
  • Refill and cause equipment components to fail
  • Maintain logbooks and records
  • Perform work in accordance with FAA 150/40, Part 145, and 14 CFR Part 61, and applicable regulations
  • Assist with safety inspections, investigations, and audits, including responding to incidents, accidents, and customer complaints
  • Provide technical support, documentation, guidance, and advice to aviation maintenance technicians

Requirements And Skills:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Basic knowledge of aircraft maintenance
  • Seasonal availability required
  • Knowledge of maintenance systems, components and functions
  • Ability to perform aircraft inspection, installation, troubleshooting and repair
  • Ability to perform aircraft maintenance inspections
