High School Teacher Duties:

• Provide instruction in the core subjects of mathematics, science, English, and history
• Maintain discipline in the classroom and classroom management
• Evaluate student work and progress throughout the year
• Provide individual tutoring for students who are struggling academically
• Evaluate students’ performance against state, district, and school expectations
• Design and deliver lessons that incorporate latest research in pedagogy and instruction
• Discuss and implement innovative teaching methods for instructional improvement
• Monitor student attendance and participation

High School Teacher Responsibilities:

• Create lesson plans and instructional materials, and deliver instruction in normal and special education classrooms; oversee special education students’ progress
• Organize and administer student testing results, and meet with parents to discuss individual student progress
• Supervise school facilities and equipment, ensuring the building is clean, orderly, and well-maintained
• Manage student activities, such as student council, clubs, and sports teams
• Maintain student records and attendance
• Provide ongoing training to staff

Requirements And Skills:

• High School diploma and a minimum of 5 years’ teaching experience
• Master’s degree or 6+ years’ teaching experience preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to prepare and deliver creative, engaging and memorable lessons
• Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
