Immigration Paralegal Duties:

  • Investigates immigration issues, prepares immigration documents, and advises clients on immigration law
  • Researches, drafts, and revises immigration forms
  • Researches, prepares, and submits applications for visa renewals, waivers, and citizenship
  • Reviews client and company documentation to ensure adherence to immigration regulations
  • Advises clients on company immigration policies and procedures
  • Prepares PowerPoint presentations for immigration policies and procedures
  • Evaluates current visa practices and regulatory compliance issues
  • Reviews and creates immigration-related policies, procedures, and programs for compliance
  • Assists in managing immigration issues

Immigration Paralegal Responsibilities:

  • Assist and support in-house immigration practice in all aspects of immigration case management, including the preparation of petitions, applications, I-9s, and various forms
  • Review and process naturalization applications, including interviews and appointments
  • Assist with preparation of complex cases for administrative appeals and final hearings
  • Conduct research on US immigration laws, regulations, and court decisions
  • Research and draft pleadings and briefs and file them with the court
  • Conduct client interviews, record interviews, and prepare summaries
  • Assist in preparation of motions, briefs, and complaints and represent clients in hearings and litigation
  • Prepare letters and memos for judges and clients
  • Assist in the preparation and review of legal opinions
  • Assist in preparation of documents for court proceedings
  • Attend hearings, depositions, and other hearings
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements And Skills:

  • Two or more years of experience as a paralegal, including immigration work
  • Understanding of legal terms, processes, and procedures
  • Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer, internet, and research skills
