Industrial Hygienist Duties:

  • Ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety laws and regulations
  • Develop, implement, and maintain environmental programs, policies, and procedures
  • Maintain regular communication with regulatory agencies, employees, and clients regarding environmental program issues
  • Provide training, guidance, and oversight to environmental and safety personnel
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain environmental and safety programs
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety laws and regulations
  • Provide technical consultation to management, employees, and clients
  • Monitor environmental and safety programs
  • Develop and update environmental and safety policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Perform inspections of facilities and properties to ensure adherence to regulations
  • Oversee the development and implementation of environmental and safety plans
  • Develop, implement, and maintain environmental and safety programs, policies, and procedures
  • Conduct environmental and safety audits and inspections

Industrial Hygienist Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to site personnel in performing site inspections, air monitoring, industrial hygiene, and engineering compliance
  • Develop and interpret test methods, using appropriate laboratory equipment, and following established procedures
  • Perform inspections and tests in accordance with ASHRAE, OSHA, and EPA standards and regulations
  • Perform all job functions in compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations and in accordance with company safety policies
  • Perform industrial hygiene and engineering compliance services to maintain compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations
  • Perform sampling and data analysis of environmental samples, using appropriate instruments, methods, and sampling techniques
  • Perform sampling and data analysis of HVAC air and process samples,  dust samples, sewage samples, storm water samples and noise

Requirements And Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial hygiene
  • 3+ years experience in industrial hygiene
  • Knowledge of industrial hygiene principles
  • Knowledge of safety precautions and practices required in industrial environments
  • Knowledge of chemical, physical, and biological contaminants
  • Knowledge of industrial hygiene testing
