Installation Technician Duties:

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and replace various types of HVAC equipment
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and light industrial furnaces, boilers, and air conditioning systems
  • Communicate effectively and concisely with management, coworkers, and customers
  • Maintain equipment logs and service records for accurate record keeping
  • Liaise with clients and vendors for trouble shooting and scheduling
  • Follow safety procedures and use appropriate safety gear
  • Use good judgment as well as proper safety precautions

Installation Technician Responsibilities:

  • Perform installations, retrofits, and additions to buildings
  • Install and test different types of aerial, satellite, and cable systems, including fiber optics, coaxial cable, and wireless systems
  • Perform installation, testing, and troubleshooting of low voltage systems, including networking, low voltage audio/visual, and security systems
  • Assist technicians with the installation of equipment, work order tracking, and scheduling
  • Maintain and repair customer equipment
  • Perform housekeeping duties, such as changing tires, servicing generators, and performing inspections
  • Drive vehicles and equipment
  • Carry a fully stocked tool bag
  • Use company vehicles and equipment in a safe and professional manner
  • Complete necessary paperwork

Requirements And Skills:

  • Previous experience as a HVAC service technician
  • Experience in the installation of commercial HVAC systems
  • Knowledge of HVAC unit functions and ability to troubleshoot
  • Knowledge of refrigerants, flues, piping, and refrigerant circuit systems
  • Ability to operate a wide variety of HVAC equipment
  • Knowledge of refrigerant
