Investment Banker Job Description

An investment banker provides financing for companies, both privately- and publicly-held.

The investment banker does this by placing and accepting orders for securities and loaning money.

An investment banker might be the company’s “go-to” person for placing and accepting orders for new debt or equity issuance.

An investment banker can help a firm raise money by using a variety of techniques, including underwriting, placement of public offerings, or private placements.

An investment banker may also help manage a private equity portfolio.
