Wire work relates to connecting wires together.

They perform a variety of tasks that include installing wiring, making repairs, and maintaining electrical systems.

Job Brief:

We’re looking for a Journeyman Electrician to work on a variety of commercial and industrial projects. You will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems and components. You must have a Journeyman Electrician license and be able to pass a background check.

Journeyman Electrician Duties:

  • Work directly with clients and supervise and train other employees
  • Perform routine checks and fixes on electrical systems
  • Install and maintain equipment and wiring, including electric motors, fixtures, and appliances
  • Test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems
  • Perform other electrical tasks as needed

Journeyman Electrician Responsibilities:

  • Perform all aspects of electrical installation, restoration, testing, and repair services, including troubleshooting and repairing of electrical faults, applications, and systems
  • Understand all electrical codes, standards, and regulations applicable to their work, as well as safety procedures
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot circuits, fixtures, switches, circuit breakers, transformers, generators, and electrical equipment
  • Install new electrical fixtures and equipment and test them to ensure they are in compliance
  • Repair and maintain existing electrical fixtures and equipment
  • Perform work in hazardous locations, including underground, marine, and aerial
  • Assist with projects as needed

Requirements And Skills:

  • Experience with commercial and industrial job sites
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently
  • Requires 1-year minimum experience in commercial and residential electrical installations. Electricity experience preferred.
  • Requires valid New York State electrical license.
