Kinesiologists study human movement and mobility.

They assess how individuals move, how they move differently from one another, and how movement changes with age.

Kinesiologists perform a variety of tests and measurements to determine the range of motion in joints, how an individual moves, how they move differently from one another, and how they move differently with age.

They conduct tests on most joints of the body including the spine, shoulders, wrists, knees, ankles, pelvis, hips, and upper extremities.

Job Brief:

We're looking for a Kinesiologist to help us improve our health and fitness. You will be responsible for designing and overseeing our fitness programs, as well as providing guidance and support to our members. If you have a passion for health and fitness, and want to help others achieve their goals, then we want to hear from you!

Kinesiologist Duties:

  • Follow safety procedures
  • Performing exercises/workouts
  • Understand the purpose of each exercise and encouraging them to participate
  • Correcting any improper technique
  • Listening to clients' complaints
  • Assist clients by performing stretches and exercises recommended by kinesiologist
  • Performing tests and evaluating the client's responses
  • Communication with clients
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment
  • Answering phone calls and emails

Kinesiologist Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with fitness assessments and exercise program design
  • Develop and implement fitness plans that incorporate body weight exercises, free weights, and resistance machines
  • Perform fitness assessments on clients, including measurements of body composition, flexibility, muscle strength, and endurance
  • Develop educational instruction and exercise programs for individuals and groups
  • Train clients to use appropriate equipment safely and correctly, emphasizing proper posture and technique
  • Ensure clients’ health and safety
  • Perform first aid and CPR as needed
  • Maintain and update client files, including progress assessments and progress notes
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements And Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology or a related field
  • 2+ years’ experience as a kinesiologist
  • Knowledge of physical assessment techniques and exercise testing
  • Knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy and physiology
  • Knowledge of basic nutrition, diet, and exercise principles
