We’re looking for a talented and experienced Land Surveyor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong mathematical skills, and experience using surveying equipment.

Land Surveyor Duties:

  • Perform land surveying duties
  • Trace property lines, create mapping, and survey land
  • Provide third party services
  • Approve or disapprove construction plans
  • Instruct and train subordinates on proper land surveying processes, techniques, and products
  • Maintain records of surveys and maps
  • Communicate with public and government officials
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws
  • Promote safety in the workplace

Land Surveyor Responsibilities:

  • Direct field survey crews, conduct field mapping and field inspections, and prepare plot plans and subdivision plats
  • Prepare field boundaries for survey instruments
  • Survey land for construction purposes
  • Perform boundary, topographic, and aerial surveys
  • Prepare diagrams and other drawings based on field observations
  • Prepare calculations, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Assist with proposal preparation
  • Perform land surveys from blueprints, sketches, or written descriptions
  • Prepare survey stakes, survey control, survey plans, and survey maps
  • Prepare the topographic or aerial survey and map
  • Maintain and update survey records

Requirements And Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in surveying or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years’ post-college experience
  • Experience with boundary surveys
  • Work experience using GPS equipment
  • Knowledge of construction staking and surveying principles
  • Experience with boundary fence layouts
