Job Brief:

We're looking for a Layout Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in layout design, as well as a strong understanding of typography and color theory. They will be responsible for creating layouts for print and digital products, as well as working with our team of designers to ensure that all products are consistent and on brand. Layout Designer Duties:

  • Design and print layouts for advertisements, catalogs, pamphlets, brochures, flyers, posters, folders, and other printed materials
  • Develop layouts and print concepts using Adobe InDesign
  • Have knowledge of Microsoft Office and other specialized applications
  • Use basic photography and computer skills
  • Create and compile reports, memos, and charts
  • Communicate effectively with vendors and clients
  • Plan and coordinate production schedules
  • Organize and create presentations
  • Maintain accurate records
  • Provide leadership and direction to subordinate employees
  • Plan and coordinate various assignments
  • Provide administrative and clerical support as needed
  • Monitor costs and efficiency

Layout Designer Responsibilities:

  • Plan and manage the flow of product on assembly lines to meet production targets
  • Assist in scheduling production equipment to meet production requirements
  • Collaborate with purchasing agents and plant personnel on material availability, freight scheduling, and inventory control
  • Use graphic software to create production plans, track inventory, and complete other related tasks
  • Eliminate waste and inefficiencies from production systems
  • Work closely with the business to achieve production goals and improve productivity
  • Advise senior management on operational and purchasing issues, including price increases and cost reductions
